How Long Will the Actual Construction Take?
The short answer
Construction duration begins when physical work starts on-site, not when the first consultation, design agreement, or permit application takes place. The duration depends on size, complexity, weather, inspections, and coordination with specialty trades.
Why the calendar can be longer than the labor
A project may require excavation and footings, concrete cure time, framing, inspections, roofing, electrical work, trim, finishes, and final corrections. Not every step can happen on consecutive days, and some must be completed before the next trade can proceed.
How to interpret an estimate
If we anticipate four to five weeks of construction, that is a planning estimate under reasonably normal conditions, not a promise that every day will be productive or that outside delays cannot occur.
Our approach
We will discuss anticipated on-site duration and communicate meaningful schedule changes. We want homeowners to distinguish the overall project journey from the period when crews are physically building.
